The best down in the world!

We are proud of the down used in our sleeping bags and garments. It is widely known that down is the best insulation available. It is light, extremely compressible and breathable. Its warmth to weight ratio is unsurpassed. Moreover, good down properly cared for is durable -
it can heat its owner for many years.

We use following down types:
870 cui + "platinum" down - it is absolutely a top in down quality. We are reliable when claiming that we offer the best down insulation in the world. This premium goose down of this unmatched loft is used as an high end option. Thanks to it we can meet the demands of clients who look for sleeping bags in which the quality and design can not be competed,
nor outdoneby anybody, anywhere.

Composition of down grey northern duck and goose down
of 700 cui of fill power mostly used in our standard sleeping bags and garments. This rarely met insulation produces outstanding warmth-to-weight ratio.

Fabrics for humidity control

While designing our bags and garments, we were looking for fabrics that could give:
- Maximum performance in terms of down retention, breathability, windproof capability, strength and exceptional low weight;
- Reduced pack size for both bags and garments without losing any of the life saving properties afforded by a fabric in extreme conditions;
- Maximum loft and body moulding capabilities for insulated products so that the fill would not be weighted down by the fabric

We found that our requirements can be met by following fabrics:

MicroDry (50 gr/m2)
The lightest waterproof/ breathable fabric available. Can compete with any counterpart available on the market. As down insulation degrades when exposed to moisture, the outer shell from Endurance is strongly recommended in such conditions. The fabric is:
- waterproof (5000 mm of hydrostatic head);
- highly breathable (5000 gr/m2/24h);
- exceptionally durable to washing.

Q20 (32gr/m2)
Using this fabric made of 20 denier yarns means a big step ahead in down sleeping bag and garments production. For the end user it a real revolution. It offers the best strength to weight ratio of any sub-1oz ultralight fabric still maintaining excellent durability in field tests. 50% less weight compared to standard rip-stop shell fabrics leads to a significant weight reduction in consumer product (more then 100g on a sleeping bag, 50g on a average down jacket). 50% less packing volume compared to a 54g/m2 ripstop fabric makes that a windproof Quantum shell garment fits in a back pocket. Although its weight is reduced by 50%, Q20's tear strength is only 25% less than a 54g/m2 ripstop fabric. It is very soft, and it ensures that the loft of the insulating material is ideally maintained.

Micro 20 (41 gr/m2)
A very light (41g/m2) but still durable and strong - is one of the softest and lightest fabrics in the world - essential when grams and ounces count. The tightly woven (234x162 thread count) microfibre yarns provide plentiful protection for the insulationn materials used, whether down or synthetic. Using 20 denier yarns, it is both downproof and wind-proof, water-repellent and durable.

Micro 30 (47 gr/m2)
Classic nylon fabric used in high quality down garments and sleeping bags. Based on 33 deniers yarns it is light (47g/m2), downproof and almost windproof by construction. Its dense structure ( 204x140 thread count) resists penetration by all insulation fibres. Double water repellent treatments encapsulates each fibres before the process of very close weaving which provides highly durable water protection. We use it mainly for jackets outer shells.

Piumi
Used as a soft nylon- excellent European fabric for inner shells. Light (45gr/m2), tightly woven (165x122 thread count), based on 32/34 denier yarns with soft feel and good wicking properties.

In our products we combine highest quality materials and modern technologies. Our big advantage is a highly experienced team of employes. Thanks to their skils we can manufacture products with built-in quality which lasts for entire life of jacket or sleeping bag.

Baffles - we use in our sacs vertical wall baffling which controls down shifting with a minimum of weight. It creates a full box wall construction with no sewn-through places, which would cause heat loss.
Side-block Baffles - it is a lengthways cross-block baffle running opposite the zipper which assists down shift control. However, this configuration reduces versatility. When there is no side-block baffle (in Idawal bags and some Fenrir) you can put the down where you eed. When warm you can shift the down beneath you. When it gets cold you can shift it above. It is also easier to maintain the bags versatility when you roll over in your sleep. Down moves freely giving you almost optimal insulation(when combined with a differential cut).
Multi chamber construction - we use it in most of our extreme sleeping bags. It gives perfect down stabilization. There are 50 down chambers in the Ragnarok and 60 in the Asgard. Thanks to the side chambers, almost always the same insulation layer is guaranteed. However, there is less versatility and a bit more weight.
Differential cut - the outer shell is cut larger than the inner lining to allow sufficient loft space
Insulated neck collar in sleeping bags prevents cold draughts and the lost of the air heated by the body.
Tapered mummy shape for maximum warmth with sufficient hip and shoulder room for comfort and easy movement
Sculptured hood in sleeping bags and jackets made of 1 to 5 down compartments conserving heat in the area of the head and shoulders
2-way zippers opening from the top or bottom for easy ventilation control
